From the Archives

Dragon parade/Michele Bedigian

Each weekend Studio 1482 will be featuring posts from the One Drawing A Day archives. Today’s post is by Michele Bedigian, from back in 2016. It’s titled “Maleficent’s Mission.” #ODADarchive   Maleficent is a complicated, pivotal character in the Disney reportoire. As a beautiful young woman of pure heart she had an idyllic life in a forest […]

Timeless water-colors

one watercolor a day/ Michele Bedigian

So the boys went boating yesterday, the 4th of July, with their Dad and their Grandpa, and it reminded me of this piece I did about a year ago in Newport, Rhode Island (a frequent family destination). I did it originally on site as an exercise for “One Watercolor a Day”, a follow-up to our […]

Bird brain

baby bird/michele bedigian

One day a few years back I was in Paris with my partners in the studio drawing in the Tuileries Garden (a public garden located between the Louvre Museum and the Place de la Concorde) when this little sparrow curious beyond fear practically hopped onto my board. He spent a good 20 minutes inspecting what I was […]

Not just to draw them but to try to capture how they felt.  Art by Michele Bedigian

It’s honestly a favorite of mine I guess because of it’s complications and the “study within the study”. The Mickey ears might […]

Ahhhhh Paris

I just loved Dom’s post yesterday. Yet I have to share … At the moment I’m kinda feeling the crunch. Anthropologie just sent out a blast titled “5 more sleeps till Christmas!” Really, did you have to? So I’m taking a break (as brief as it is) to post a drawing (and it’s thumbnail) […]

opening soon

Paris is by far one of my favorite places on earth (for those who don’t already know) and modern technology reminded me at 5am this morning when one of my best friends text’d me and said she just rode her bike past the Louvre. Above was a study done at the Picasso museum in Paris while […]
