spring!! :)

Yes, spring is finally here in New York City, and we are so happy to see her! I took my Location Drawing class from Pratt Institute to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens today, you should see the drawings they made! Great group! And I managed to steal 15 minutes for a little cup of coffee and a quick watercolor of this cherry blossom tree. It’s a little more orangey than pinky, but I like the effect, it feels right. And I’m loving this paper – Arches rough finish, it’s so luscious! Enjoy the sunshine, fellow New Yorkers!

PS Speaking of watercolor…more news on that soon…

I truly love the simplicity and colors of this painting. It looks good enough to be a spring tree, and vague enough to be anything else. Beautiful.
