Many Moons Ago

You would think a new schedule would keep me on my toes. While it is still Saturday, this is far from a Saturday post. Intentions, intentions, intentions…always good intentions. Saint Bernard, Virgil, and Milton would have something to say about it right now. Either way, spring was certainly on my mind today and though still cold for a Holy Saturday the sun was shining and cabin fever was getting a good dose of medicine. As I let go of my intentions and reached into the archives the first book I pulled out included this thumbnail from many years ago. Quite possibly one of the most spiritual days I may ever have. As I was on the train from Paris I passed hayfields, and possibly what would at another time of year by lavender, and my mind began to wonder what Chartres would be like. As we walked from the station to the center of the village nothing could compare with the vision that was before us. As close to heaven on earth as you can get.—Dominick

Dom I remember it as if it was yesterday. It left me in awe. Yes, truly … “as close to heaven on earth as you can get”.
