Recently I had the wonderful opportunity to draw the Hudson Yards on Manhattan’s west side, from a bird’s eye view. The yards are used right now as a rail yard to house MTA trains – – it will soon become a huge development, with luxury apartments, shopping, theater, etc., etc. You can read about it HERE.
Not sure how I’m feeling about all this construction going on in Manhattan. I’m not one of those people who sit around longing for the ‘good old days’ of the 1980’s in Manhattan – there was a lot of crime mixed in with all the character – but I do love the diversity of this city. Hopefully all these new *luxury* neighborhoods won’t cramp it out. Of course, growth and skyscrapers are also what make Manhattan so exciting! We’ll see how it goes…in the meantime, I’m so happy to be able to document what’s here now. Five years from now this view will be history.
