Inauguration

Inauguration

vl-capitol-1

Even though the big celebration is tomorrow, today is the official swearing in of Barack Obama for his second term. It’s a happy day for me! Above is a quick drawing I made last week while in Washington DC with our Dalvero class. It was a beautiful foggy morning, and as we walked toward the Capitol Building, we heard inspirational and patriotic music playing. They were rehearsing in front of the Capitol building for the official inauguration ceremony to be held tomorrow. It was kind of exciting even though none of the politicians or former presidents (not to mention the Obamas) were actually there to hear their names called out. Music was playing and the ushers were marching into their positions. When the announcement went out for President Obama, one lady who was watching the rehearsal let out a cheer! I hope she knew that the man with the placard around his neck saying “President Obama” was just a stand-in… 🙂
