Figure it might be fun to “hop on board” with Dom & Eddie and share a detail from a drawing for a fiber-art piece I’ve been working hard on these days. All in preparation for an exciting group show titled, Restoring a Past, Charting a Future opening in a few short weeks. - Michele

Singing sea songs at the Mystic Seaport Museum. This pen and ink drawing is one of hundreds done at the museum. Drawing the singers is always fun, you find your self dancing with your brush and pen.

They look so incredibly unnatural and fake, yet my son gravitated to them when I asked him to pick out a bouquet at the market today. Have any of you noticed these bouquets that are artificially colored and make you feel like you accidentally took a swig out of the Miracle Gro bottle? -Despina

The build up to the show at the end of the month has me looking through the material that inspired the final piece that will hand for the next year. If you are near Mystic any time soon, the show should not be missed. —Dominick

The streets of NY. I use to say I wanted to leave NY. It’s just grown on me, I couldn’t imagine leaving her.

I was up at the Mystic Seaport this past Friday, along with a few of the other Dalvero Academy artists. We’re preparing for our show: Restoring a Past, Charting a Future, that opens to the public on April 28. While there, we had a chance to draw the workers and volunteers putting the planking on the outside of the Charles W. Morgan, the only wooden whaling ship left in the world. We’re very excited about the exhibition. To visit the exhibit website, click HERE.

This is one of a series of drawings I made for a storyboard about how we store our memories and culture. Lots of patterns!

Strange name, and every song is about a love lost or a scorned lover or a broken heart or a girl named Carolyn. Or something along those lines. -Despina

Here is a drawing I made during dinner before the live jazz show at Birdland last week. Great characters in there.

Pulled out a reportage I had done in the Rotunda at the American Adventure Pavilion in Epcot. As I recall I think all these people were running from the heat, just like me :0 …. regardless, good times for sure!

Made this watercolor painting in the Japanese pavilion in EPCOT.
It expresses the feeling I feel when Spring finally arrives. : )

Many years ago I went to the racetrack and thought it might be fun to draw the horses and their riders.

I couldn’t really tell if this woman had dozed off while reading her book… but I drew her anyway. -Despina
