Spring on Elizabeth Street

Spring on Elizabeth Street

It was a perfect day to take my Parsons School of Design Drawing NYC class to the Elizabeth Street Garden, an elegant little European-style park in the middle of Nolita. The garden is a necessary respite for the neighborhood residents, and they are fighting to keep from succumbing to the developers that constantly circle the downtown sections of Manhattan. Friends of Elizabeth Street Garden announced on March 7 a lawsuit against New York City to stop the destruction of Elizabeth Street Garden, a treasured green space located between Prince and Spring streets in Little Italy.
