What a fabulous and sketchy way to use pastels! I will try this! As always the challenge of preservation annoys me. Right now I’m experimenting with a scrape of matte medium over a small pastel which I sprayed first.
Yeah pastels can be a bit messy for sure. The fixative generally works well and then you can cover your work with a piece of glassine to further prevent damage. Good luck with all of your experimentation and thanks so much for visiting One Drawing A Day!
