Today I have a special treat for you: This is the page of drawings that eventually grew into the EP!PHANY project. EP!PHANY is a great example how study fuels art, and these drawings of Teddy Roosevelt’s hats and phone were done at the Museum of Natural History in New York in response to research about Japanese Buddhism.
EP!PHANY are a set of association cards designed to break ingrained patterns of thinking and develop your ability to generate ideas through Surrealistic juxtapositions. Each card features a different work of art designed to trigger a visceral reaction. These drawings are not the final artwork. To see some of those, you can contact firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the EPIPHANY CARDS Facebook fan page. You are also invited to join us for the official launch event on Friday, January 22nd, 2010 at The Open Center in New York City.
