March to End Family Separation

March to End Family Separation

There were demonstrations all across the United States this past Saturday against the administration’s immigration policies, and the separation of children from their parents as they try to cross the border.

NYC saw a large demonstration crossing the Brooklyn Bridge from lower Manhattan, and a smaller demonstration in my neighborhood of Jackson Heights. The group of about 600 people, led by Jessica Ramos and other local politicians, marched along 37th Avenue, from the Post Office in Jackson Heights to a small park in Corona, as the many immigrant residents of the neighborhood looked on.

Above: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who famously just ousted Joe Crowley in the Congressional Democratic primary, leads the march.
