Marathon Sunday, for Patty

Marathon Sunday, for Patty

Those of you who know me, know that I’ve been a little bit scarce on social media (and in person!) lately, because I’ve been training to run the NYC Marathon, which happened yesterday. I ran to support a wonderful charity named Gilda’s Club, that provides FREE emotional, mental, and physical support to cancer patients and their families.

I ran in loving honor of my sister Patty, who lost her fight with breast cancer in 2014. Gilda’s Club was a big help to her during her fight, and after, to me, wading through the grief of losing her. Patty was always such a positive force as well as being a marathon runner, so this seemed like a perfect way to honor her. Although, she would be amazed to see it. haha

If you would like to help me to raise funds for this fantastic organization, the fundraiser will stay open for another day or two, and you can give by clicking HERE. (Donate $75 or more and I will send you a signed print of the drawing I made of the 2013 NYC Marathon, above.)

Many thanks to those of you who contributed to the fundraiser, emailed me words of encouragement, came out to cheer me on, or sent some good thoughts yesterday – it all helped me get through those final miles!

xx Veronica
