Jumping between the lines

Jumping between the lines

My son reads– a lot. And it all started alarmingly young. Once when he was still in diapers at the age of 1, I found him jumping up and down on the pages of an open book. He pointed to the pages and said pleadingly “I go in there. Mommy I go in there”. A year later he was a full fledged reader, ripping through beginner books like as if he’d already read them in a past life.

To this day whenever I see him reading with those furrowed brows I knows he’s doing it again. He’s jumping inside the book.

I love this drawing, AND the story!

I remember that. And that is exactly what his face looks like reading.
