Day 38

Day 38

I was working on an exhibit project about whales and ocean life and the plastic garbage that we dump into and fill our oceans with every day. I began to collect the straws that I was using every time I bought an iced coffee. This really hit home with me because it was something I did every day. It really raised my awareness of what one straw a few times a day added up to. I shaped the straws into a whale’s tail to show that our plastic waste will one day take over our ocean life. This is a thumbnail of my final project with a combination of drawn whales and ships and real straws.
