The Canal Saint-Martin is a lovely quiet part of Paris. The canal was built under Napoleon’s orders in 1802, to supply fresh water to the city. Until quite recently it was a very working class neighborhood – now the hipsters are starting to make their claim. Like New York, like Paris. But I can see why, it was a great place to spend the afternoon with Neil and my stepdaughters. By the way, in case you’re wondering, you could hear accordion music in the background while I made this drawing. So nice.
