In honor of the fact that I am on my honeymoon right now, I thought I’d post this drawing I made of two lovers kissing behind Notre Dame in Paris. Vive l’amour! posted by Veronica Lawlor
View post →Chinatown in San Francisco is the largest Chinese community outside of Asia. The ‘Dragon Gate’ at the entrance to the neighborhood is the only authentic Chinatown gate in North America. I had the pleasure of sitting across from it, sipping a decaff cappucinno, and drawing several views. Heavenly! posted by Veronica Lawlor
View post →Spent some time in the Japanese garden at Golden Gate Park. I thought it would be fun to slow down and draw this maple tree. I enjoyed drawing all the leaves, and adding a little bit of color. What a beautiful garden, a must see if you’re visiting San Francisco. I drew this on Canson […]

View post →When I was making the illustration for the Studio 1482 Japanese fundraiser, I did this piece as well as the one I ultimately submitted to the fundraising campaign. I like the energy of it, but in the end thought that the more peaceful version would show the strength that comes from hope. Posted by Veronica […]
View post →I drew this in the Ryoan-ji Zen garden in Kyoto, Japan. What a beautiful, peaceful place. I was struck by the way the Japanese people sat in front of this garden and simply watched. The sensitivity of that is something I will never get over. With great sensitivity comes great strength, and I thought I would […]
View post →Been going through my flat files lately, and came across a series of drawings I did when Harry Connick, Jr. performed outside of Bloomingdale’s for the Christmas crowd. This was fun to draw, and one of many reasons why I like living in New York City. – posted by Veronica.
View post →Above is a wood engraving I made of the South Street Seaport, years ago. I love the Seaport – it’s such a unique spot in New York City, and so directly tied to the city’s history. On a sunny day, there’s nothing better than going down to the Seaport to make some drawings of the […]
View post →A Roman fantasy, I drew this in the Piazza Navona, just before enjoying some nice gelatto. I miss Rome. Posted by Veronica.
