The New York Botanical Gardens provide an educational gardening program now called  ‘The Edible Academy’ my children have been attending since they were three. Last week was the end of the spring session and my favorite day … HARVESTING! They each harvested what they planted earlier in the season to take home and eat, or eat on the spot. They came home with some GORGEOUS lettuce, arugula, swiss chard, lemon balm, sweet peas, a multitude of herbs, and even chocolate mint! Teaching them early what farm to table means has been tremendous! Have a sweet, kind day. – Michele Bedigian - Artwork titled: Chagall’s paradise / reportage at the NYBG in mixed medium
