Happy and honored to announce that I have been invited to be one of the jurors for the 2019 Sketch 4 Freedom competition, sponsored by the Four Freedoms Park Conservancy. I’m glad to be in the company of the other very talented jurors, and look forward to seeing the work that is submitted.
The theme this year is “Light & Shadow,” inspired by the attention that the park architect, Louis Kahn, gave to “the interplay of sunlight and shadows in his design” of the memorial. If you live in the NYC area, or will be visiting – and like to draw on location – please consider making a trip to draw the light and shadow of the Four Freedoms Park on Roosevelt Island, and submit to the competition!
