The new congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been busy making headlines since her inauguration this January. If you look closely in this drawing I made in Jackson Heights last spring, at a rally against family separations at the southern border, you’ll see her holding the banner. She was out there marching with the organizations, Queens Neighborhoods United and Make the Road NY, two groups that fight for immigrant rights. It was a lively gathering and many people told their personal stories of immigration to New York City – the main theme was, nobody should live in fear. Posted by Veronica
