Another ship drawing, this time of the USS Constitution, docked in Boston harbor. I sailed up to the Constitution on board the Charles W. Morgan (more on that in a later post) and she was an awesome and imposing sight. The Morgan felt light and airy next to the Constitution’s huge black hull and black wiry lines. Wow. They called her “old ironsides” because her hull was made of live oak, and cannonballs bounced right off it. I know I’d run if I saw her coming!

PS see a preview of my drawings from my amazing Morgan voyage HERE. We had fog the whole way – it was so romantic and appropriate.
