Two weeks ago I ran the New York City marathon, to raise funds for Gilda’s Club, an organization that provides free support for cancer patients and their families. I ran in honor of my beautiful sister Patty, who lost her fight with cancer in 2014. We both benefited from Gilda’s Club, and this seemed like a perfect way to honor her too, since she was a marathon runner.
I, on the other hand, have never been a runner, or exerciser of any kind. So this was quite an experience! I started training in mid-June, and truly went from couch to marathon, and raised $5000 for Gilda’s Club as part of the journey. Made a few little drawings along the way too. You can see the whole reportage on my blog, HERE.
