So my parents have retired and are moving. I’m helping to clear out the storage which consists of a lot of my old portfolio cases filled with journals and artwork from high school and college. It’s been part embarrassing and part inspiring. And a wholly emotional experience. For those of you out there with children: urge them to keep journals!!!
Above is a drawing from my first year in college. Among all the drawings with shading and emphasis on rendering the figure perfectly, this one stood out to me as it appeals to the kind of drawing I enjoy today. But the shaded and rendered ones have inspired me to try it again next time I draw from a model. I’ll share one of those next time. It’s been a while!
