Hands and rope. these are two drawings from last weekend when Dalvero Academy reportaged the sailing of the Charles W. Morgan on her 38th voyage. She went from Mystic Seaport to New London on March 17th. These hands/rope drawings were made the following day when the crew was attaching the sails to the jibs to hang on the Morgan’s masts. Seeing the people working with their hands made me realize just how much of the work is done by hand. It is beautiful to see the connection of the hands to the rope, the sails, the ship, the wood, all of it!
