In Haiti there’s a new program called “Ti Manman Cheri,†or Creole for “Dear Little Mother.†It aims to reach 100,000 families in four of the capital’s poorest neighborhoods. Mothers with children enrolled in the first through sixth grades, as well as take part in vaccination programs, can receive up to $20 a month if they keep the youngsters in school.
After so much devastation and corruption, maybe the tiny voices will now have a chance in life.
