OK, there is little evidence on the surface that there are trains inside. I remembered seeing drawings of it before construction started and not thinking much of it, but the Oculus Transportation Hub has become one of my favorite buildings in Manhattan. Honestly, I thought it was a forced idea on paper but as I witnessed it being built I started to change my opinion. The structure neither dominates nor recedes in the surrounding landscape and it changes your view no matter which angle you approach it from. It is a futuristic fantasy of a building made all the better by its interior views. I wish it was home to more than a high end mall on the inside, but for the daily traveler it certainly makes for an amazing journey. The second best transportation hub in Manhattan, but I have always been partial to Grand Central.
