Cheers to the weekend! Greg Betza ©2022
View post →During the pandemic (the height of it) I was drawing all the time via zoom. Since things have calmed down I’ve done it less and less. Many reasons why, but that’s another story. Here is a drawing I found from a year or two ago while cleaning up my studio. Greg Betza ©2022
View post →It wasn’t actually purple, but it is here. Infinite possibilities when you really look at nature. Greg Betza ©2022

View post →This caterpillar was hanging upside-down preparing for its metamorphosis. Even though everyone knows this happens, it is still almost unbelievable when you see it with your own eyes. Greg Betza ©2022
View post →I made this drawing during the 3rd intermission of game 7 between the New York Rangers and the Pittsburgh Penguins. My son and I are Ranger fanatics and what I captured here (besides his height) is his attempt to relax before overtime began. Making this drawing was my attempt to take my mind off of […]
View post →Friend’s of ours passed down one of these butterfly mesh houses where you can watch caterpillars DEVOUR milkweed and then finally transform into butterflies. My daughter loves butterflies so the timing is perfect. Overnight and this morning they began their transformation from caterpillar to chrysalis. Nature is amazing. Greg Betza ©2022
View post →Another drawing from my session last week with my gifted markers. These amazing palms, etc. live in my new backyard. Greg Betza ©2022
View post →A friend’s mother passed away about 2 years ago and he gifted me her markers. She was an artist. This morning was the first time I used them. These flowers are for her. Greg Betza ©2022
View post →I picked up a crappy, large red sharpie and made a drawing just to see how it would turn out. I’m pretty happy with it. Sometimes it’s good to just “use what you have” and get the drawing down…what do you have to lose? Greg Betza ©2022
View post →I recently moved and have been exploring my new view. These trees are such a standout to me. Their color, perhaps from decay, just pops with the greenery behind. I finally had a moment to draw them. Greg Betza ©2022
View post →I recently moved into a new studio and with that comes a new view. There are 3 palm trees (not sure which type yet) outside my window so I played a little today with different brushes and a bamboo pen. A lot I like about this drawing and a lot I don’t…on to the next! […]
View post →These marker drawings are from a Destroyer concert in 2011. Funny I came across these today as I was just listening to his new album. I wouldn’t say it’s for everyone, but if you give them a chance and you get it, you can’t get enough. Greg Betza ©2022
View post →This fellow was enjoying this holiday as so many others do. While I personally don’t know how I feel about the way people celebrate today, I do enjoy how happy today seems to make everyone. We all need that break, regardless of the reason, every now and then. Greg Betza ©2022
View post →When you’re studying it’s interesting to see how you lay out your drawings on a page. In the absence of a predetermined plan design decisions are made during the process, as with this series of figures. Greg Betza ©2022
View post →Down in Florida it feels like summer almost all of the time, however some trees do shed and regrow their leaves and/or flowers. Sitting in a parking lot last night I drew some of the palm trees and a crepe myrtle already in bloom. Greg Betza ©2022
View post →For a variety of reasons I have not posted in quite awhile but I’m excited to be back. Here is a ballerina I created as part of a wine label project. Have a great day. Greg Betza ©2022
View post →My daughter finds many things to be very suspicious lol. Greg Betza ©2022
View post →Here is a detail of a horse head from a “warm-up” drawing I made for a recent commission. Greg Betza ©2021
View post →I’m sure we’ve all had this happen…our desk seems to grow, and grow, and grow into a twisted pile of books and papers and receipts and many things we surely don’t need to hold onto anymore. Greg Betza ©2021
