I guess this weekend is all about bridges! This drawing is of the beautiful Ed Koch Bridge. A.k.a- Queensboro Bridge. But it will always be the 59th Street Bridge to me. I grew up in Astoria, Queens, and this bridge always represented the passageway to an adventure. Going across that bridge, to this day, I love it. I once was stuck in traffic on the upper level during a snowstorm for nearly 2 hours, with only the NYC skyline, the Silvercup Studios sign, the sturdy trusses (that look like lace in the sky if you drive fast enough) and the snowflakes to look at. Boohoo me. It was the most beautiful sunset I’ve ever seen. I love NYC, and I love this bridge. ~Despina
