Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011The Bowery Electric is a club on Manhattan’s lower east side. Last week I had a great time listening to a personal favorite, Tommy Stinson (& band). I’ll be posting more about this on my blog in a few days.

The High Line
Monday, June 20th, 2011I spent some time in NYC this week and I had a chance to visit The High Line. The High Line is a park above Manhattan’s west side. Originally an elevated freight railroad line, it was converted into a public park and opened in 2009. It has a really interesting vibe and a totally different feeling from anywhere else I’ve been in NYC.

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011sketchbook
Monday, April 25th, 2011I have a small sketchbook that I carry around with me to take notes and make quick drawings. It’s so interesting to look back through it and see the many ideas written as well as the brief record of where I’ve traveled over the last few months. Here is a drawing I nearly forgot about of The Hope Dionysos. Now I just have to figure out why I put that question mark there!

Cherry Blossom
Friday, April 1st, 2011As a symbol of the transient nature of life as well as rebirth, I chose to paint cherry blossoms as a tribute to the people of Japan.
Our National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C. is a celebration of our friendship with Japan.
