I came across this drawing I made of my son when he was still a little baby in his rocker. All the best wishes for a healthy happy and prosperous 2012. -Despina
Another drawing from the model. That red dress made the white walls in the background vibrate with cool blue energy. -Despina
At another Open House at the Dalvero Academy. Had much fun drawing the glasses, dress, hair and accessories that defined the style of the fifties. -Despina

While at a restaurant last night I took notice of how people browse through menus. Some were excited to choose their meals, some seemed indecisive, and others, like the man in this drawing seemed a bit disappointed and a bit bored with the offerings. -Despina
Every year during the Fall my memories find their way back to Paris. And very few things evoke in me the feeling of being there than those distinctive claypots on the rooftops. During my 4 month stay many years ago, I lived in the tiniest apartment you could imagine and had one tiny window to look out from. And the view was spectacular- rooftops and claypots as far as my eye could see. I would look out that window until the buildings lost all dimension and became shifting shapes of gray and orange. And at dawn and dusk, a blur of blues. -Despina

China is in the news so much these days. I’ve been making drawings and gathering information. -Despina

So, I have had this tube of lip gloss for about 7 years now. I don’t know why I never throw it out. It’s always had an overpowering perfume smell that I could never stomach to place on my lips. It’s soft felt tip reminded me of a marker, so I decided to ‘waste not want not’ and made a few drawings. It was difficult to manipulate the gunky, glittery stuff but I tried to coax some drawings out. On the bright side my drawings have never smelled so good. -Despina

Begonias are exceptionally beautiful plants. They remind me a little of lily pads that have been taken out of the water because of the shape of their leaves and how they sit on top of long skinny stems. Of course there are plenty of varieties. But I love this kind the best. -Despina
