Music

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011

This is a quick drawing I did at the Robyne show last saturday at Radio City Music Hall – I will post a review and more drawings and shots of it soon on my music blog, musikati.

This was the opening act, a single guy with a keyboard (and at times guitar) performing his strange pastiche of glam rock, Devo and club-kid-drag-queen (with a sweatband). It was kind of terrible, yet fascinating at the same time…

Egyptian Rally in NYC

Monday, February 7th, 2011

Here is a drawing of NYC reporter Jon Gerberg interviewing some Egyptian-American fathers and sons after the rally in New York City on Friday. The man at left was very emotional in what he was saying. When he finished speaking, the other men applauded him. There are a few more drawings from the day posted on my blog, you can view them HERE. posted by Veronica

Animal Kingdom

Saturday, February 5th, 2011

Animal Kingdom is a beautiful place. I sometimes find it hard to look away long enough to make a drawing. This drawing is of some ruins that are laying amongst the bushes and trees in the Asia section of the park. It’s been made into a shrine by the “locals” and really, it’s stunning. As you walk through the park and come to this point, you feel as if you’ve discovered a hidden treasure. The creators of the park designed it so this is how Asia greets and welcomes you. Love it.  Next time I go, I’d like to spend a lot more time in Asia. -Despina

While Mother Nature continues to blanket the city with so much snow I thought I’d share a heartfelt desire for some warm inviting color.

Let it snow!

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

For no other reasons than to be reminded that we are not always in control, that we have to roll with mother nature, that an unexpected obstacle might block our path, let it snow. If that’s not good enough, fly south for the winter, it’s always warmer in Florida. —Dominick
