Purple Garden
Thursday, January 7th, 2010In the spirit of this blog I wanted to share some drawings I did just out of sheer joy. I didn’t have fancy pens or nice paper on me, so I the used the ballpoint pen and soggy notepad I thankfully found in my purse. Below are two drawings I did at the Prince concert at Madison Square Garden last week for my Musikati blog, where you can find more drawings, some shots and a review of the concert.
thumbnailing moonbeams
Thursday, January 7th, 2010“moonbeams” is short for Moonbeams and Oops!, a children’s book I started writing and illustrating in Margaret’s book class this past fall. I thought it might be fun to kick off the year with a thumbnail of one of the pages and share a little of the process.
The thumbnail above is a lino-cut of a visual idea I’m playing with for Little Moon’s celestial ancestor’s who watch over her from above. (Little Moon is the main character, a courageous six year old with a heart bigger than the planet.) – Michele
I’ll gladly be sharing more on moonbeams the first week of each month as the book develops.
